Q. Can you give me some tips for buying lounge furniture?
A. When it comes to lounge furniture, ask your team the following questions:

1. What lounge styles are we looking for? For instance, do you prefer a metal frame with upholstered seats/backs, a wood frame with upholstered seats/back or something else?
2. What type of environment will the furniture be used in? For instance, will it be used in big lobbies or small lobbies, low or high-traffic areas?
3. How many years of use do we plan to get out of the lounge furniture?
4. Are removable cushions an affordable option?
5. Do we prefer high-density or high-resiliency upholstery foam? High resiliency is recommended and helps extend the life of the product.
6. In high-traffic areas, do we want a recessed bottom, which is better for cleaning? It also stands up better to abuse from shoes and scuffing.
7. What’s the room size? Allow at least 22-in. width per seat, per person. For smaller rooms, 18-in. to 20-in. width per seat, per person is acceptable.
8. How is the frame built? Ask if no-sag springs are used on both the seat and back. Steel springs are best.
9. Are the seat and back firm? Foam must be firm, otherwise it will sink or dip inward.
10. Do you want fabric, vinyl, crypton or leather? If you choose fabric, darker colors are better for cleaning and hiding stains. Vinyl is a durable choice for high-use areas, and it comes in many colors and textures simulating a fabric look. Crypton is a fairly new vinylized fabric that is great for soil and stain prevention. Leather is durable and rich looking.

WHY IS ERG A BETTER VALUE?

ERG perfectly aligns all fabric patterns at seams and matches patterns from piece to piece. This extra attention to detail gives an exquisite finished look to all ERG lounges.

ERG uses multi-ply hardwood, milled on all four sides to 1" thickness for all lounge and modular lounge frames.

ERG uses a tough tongue and groove construction where applicable.

ERG seats have heavy duty steel no-sag springs and interlocking helicoil springs on both seats and backs to prevent bottoming, increase durability and add extra comfort and bounce.

ERG lounges have “perfect pitch” on backrest angles and have generous 33" to 35" backrest heights which provide ergonomically correct lumbar support.

ERG lounges have a recessed bottom design for easy exiting, which prevents base damage from shoe scuffing and makes floor maintenance easier.

ERG wraps all foam with polyester fiber and secures all seat cushions to protect and increase the life of the upholstery.

ERG uses only environmentally friendly, water based stains, sealers, lacquers, glues and adhesives, in all lounge construction, wood finishing and upholstering processes.

ERG metal frames, legs and arms are sand blasted prior to powder coating for 100% paint adhesion.

ERG provides a lifetime warranty on all foam and lounge frames.
